Past Layouts
Here's a list of some of my past website layouts, and a little bit about each one.

REWINDD.com
Every style, every attitude
The concept behind this one was to show that Rewindd tries to cater to everyone's taste and style. Each figure and color represents a different kind of person. I liked the whole idea behind the layout, but not so much the actual layout, hahaha. It had its bursts of color, but I think the overall feeling was a little too plain. (Which is probably why I moved onto a new layout quickly.)
Showtime
I was in the mood for some really vibrant colors when I was making this layout. It was kind of by accident though how I came up with this specific color scheme. I really liked this layout, but after a while I started getting tired of just
how bright it was. I love green and all, but it can start to hurt your eyes after a while. I had a little fun with this layout on my birthday though! I decorated the figure in the layout
(click here) for the day in presents and a party hat. Hah, He looked so awesome, I was sad to take it off when my birthday actually passed.
Target Practice
This layout had a neat little concept to it. I thought it was a cool idea to have the figure be a kind of puppet, with him hanging from the top by strings. (I did the same thing with the crooked text.) It was a simple, tiny idea, but turned out to be everyone's favorite part about this layout. I think the flowy lines were a nice touch too. This layout really wasn't anything all that innovative, but it gave the site a relaxed look and I liked that.
Let's Go Pro
I absolutely loved my last layout, "Supersonic," so I wanted to keep the same style going a little in this layout, "Let's Go Pro." It's a little on the simple side but simple can be good right? The little bits of color in this layout are my favorite part. The green, pink, and blue really jump out at you.
Supersonic
"Funky fresh." First thing that comes to mind when I see this layout. The actual graphic reminds me of seaweed and bubbles, maybe that's why I viewed it as a very cheerful layout. I've also been getting pretty tired of using solid colors as my backgrounds. Who says I can't have a cool pattern? The stripes I used here worked perfectly in my opinion. This is also really one of my better graphics in terms of design. It flows and includes everything from bold colors to neat little details.
Vibrance
I was in the mood for something bright this time around. Also something that was more functional than my last layout. I found this great photo of Avril so I decided to give it a try. Who knew I'd end up liking it so much? The green was a nice change as well. I almost never use green you know? I really liked the sidebar in this one too. The bars that served as headers went well with the layout and made all the focus stay on the main table. How's that for a little design huh?
Angst
This one's got a lot of your everyday "punk/pop" graphics in it. The stars, checkered pattern and "X's" went well together
I think. However, it was a little too ordinary for my taste. People seemed to really like this layout but it just wasn't
to the level I think it could've been. I did really like the shooting stars in this one though. They were all orignally blue
(haha!) but it got to be too boring so I changed up two of the stars to make them pink & yellow. Good decision there.
The organization of this layout was pretty cool I must say. I don't think I've ever seen a header quite like this one.
Escape
Don't you just love the blue in this one? I probably say that a lot and use the color even more, but hey, it's my website.
People really seemed to like this one! I tried something different with the organization and went for a more crisp look
with this layout. It's also the first time I ever played around with the pen tool. (Crazy huh?) It had a nice vibe to
it I must say. Almost like floating in clouds. (That probably sounds ridiculous...) Overall I must say I was pretty
happy with the final product. It was kinda awkward at first, but with a few tweaks I think it came out well.
Pixel
To be blunt, I love this one. This layout actually had the most amount of
Photoshop layers when compared to all my previous layouts. I believe it had somewhere around 65 layers? That basically
means that there were 65 individual pieces to this image. It was so hard to edit it once I was done because I couldn't
find the specific layer I wanted to change! I showed this one to my art teacher as well, and she said it had good
design concepts to it. That's always good. It's called "Pixel" because those floating little sqaures reminded me
of tiny pixels that combine to create "the big picture." The picture they made here, is definitely a cool one.
Rooftop
I was brainstorming ideas for days on what to make Rewindd's first layout look like. After a week or so I just about gave up. It really
did feel like I hit this gigantic wall and my creativity was on the other side. Unattainable. However, I came across these pictures on Foto Decadent and was instantly inspired to make this layout. I just loved the feel of the photos and
had to use them. I was
going for a very clean look, but decided I'd go for more of a formal grunge look. I felt it lacked color completely though.
I love this layout, but it's just wasn't good enough. Time to raise the bar again.
ZA!D
Haze
The final layout for ZA!D @ New-Revolutions.com. This was the layout that was up right before I made my switch to
Rewindd.com, and I gotta say, it was bittersweet. I would no longer have the website be in the name of "ZA!D," and
that made a lot of people confused. Everyone started asking me if I was going to be the same even after my move,
and I didn't really have a clear answer for them. I think ZA!D has somehow morphed into a sleeker look, and THAT'S
the Rewindd.com we all know (and love!). This final layout for ZA!D was a cool one though. It was grungy and I
got to be as gritty as I wanted with the style. For those who couldn't figure it out, the woman in the image is
none other than Madonna. What awesome pictures of her :D
Fragments
This layout was pretty different from my past ones for a lot of reasons. 1. There's a woman in the main image. Strangely,
that has never happened. 2. This layout focuses more on an image than shapes and colors. It's usually the other way around.
3. There's very little blue in the header at all! I've been using that bright pink a lot lately. Also, not too many people got this,
but the woman in the picture is actually Scarlett Johanson. She's gorgeous and thanks to this picture, edgy as well.
Sophisticate
I really went all out in this style for the layout. It's got patterns, "vintage" style graphics, and even some gradients.
The only thing I didn't like about this one was the font of the "ZA!D" text. It was cool, but it didn't quite fit in my opinion.
If something irks me about a website layout, you should know by now that it wont last. Well,
I added a bunch of details to the rest of the website when I had this layout, making it one of my more complex
layouts to date.
Bayside
Most of you wont know this, but the street I live on is called "Bayside Parkway." I named this layout after the bayside
part because I've always thought it was a pretty cool street name. (Well, next to Ocean Avenue & Hollywood Blvd.)
People seemed to really respond to burst of color in this one so I think I'll carry over those vibrant colors from
layout to layout. Blue does get kinda old sometimes huh? That doesn't mean I'm gonna completely ditch it though.
Urban
This one really gave the site a more professional looking style and I just loved that. I've also been using dark gray
a lot lately. It's perfect because black is just
too dark, whereas
you can get away with dark gray.
The target on the guys face was very last minute. The face was looking pretty bad so I just decided to completely
cover it up. Worked out fine because many people said it was actually their favorite part of the image.
Edge
I just love this simple design that I made a few months back. (The wing-type things and the circles.) They
went nicely together and has been referred to as "rejuvenating," "fresh," and "edgy." I just decided to call it
"Edge." This layout is also one of my favorites because it's just so simple. I'm kind of sad to see this layout
leave the main page actually.
Doodles
This still stands to date, as my longest lasting layout. I used to make new ones frequently, but I really liked
this one for some reason. It was simple and was perfect for the "doodle" phase I was going through. The shooting
stars I made also looked really cool in this picture. I just think it was a fun layout and people liked that.
Guitar
This was the first time I tried image mapping! In case you don't know what that means, it's just where you can
click parts of an image and they link somewhere. Well, seeing as how my coding was very bad, it didn't work for
some people. Which was a big problem. This layout was cool, but it was hard to navigate around and didn't work
properly for everyone. It didn't last long, but this was the first time I used the crossing guitars idea :D
