Honda Civic Tour 2007
Artists: Fall Out Boy (Headliner) Plus 44, The Academy Is..., Paul Wall, Cobra Starship, and an unsigned
band in the state/area who wins the contest for that tour date.
Pros:
My favorite part was that there were so many bands there. Sometimes there are only two or three but there were double
here! I liked the way the bands did things, it was after fobs first song and on the screens along with this automated
voice thing it said to "please rise for the national anthem" and i was like, k, so FOB's going to sing the star
spangled banner. So all the lights were off, then after everything was quiet, one light shown on Patrick and he
started singing "where is your boy tonight, i hope, he is a gentlemen" It made the crowd go crazy! Also, some people
dont like The Academy Is...'s new sound and I think they realized that. So they played basically all the songs from
their last album, but that could be good or bad. Another good thing is that no matter how far away from the stage you
were you still got the experience. Though the pit would still be the best place.
Cons:
For FOB, their background stuff on the screen was a music video made for the show, and that kind of distracted me
from the actual performance. Also, during the videos and stuff, it was mostly Pete. That didnt give credit to the
other band members so I was mad. Then, Paul Wall, I don't know, he just didnt seem to fit in there.
Experiences:
Pete wentz jumped into the pit during "Dance, Dance" and my friend was three people away from him. He got it on video
I'll send it to you if you want. another good thing was the national anthem thing. Ah! That was my favorite part
:D
Plus 44 played "What's My Age Again" by blink 182 and it was still incredible!
Overall Rating: 8-8.5
Ive already seen FOB once and they are still good the second time. This was my frist time seeing The Academy Is...,
Paul Wall, Cobra Starship, and Plus 44. I wouldnt see it again since I was on that tour once. But I'd see some of the
bands again on something like Warped Tour. That'd be nice.
Artists: Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is..., and Cobra Starship. [+44 and Paul Wall were also apart of this but I didn't watch their set's. I hope that's okay]
Pros: Ah, well, where to begin. This concert was by far one of the most amazing ones I've gotten the chance to attend. The Honda Civic Tour consisted of playing only arena venues because this was a pretty huge tour. Some of the great things that happened were, that fans were given chances to meet Cobra Starship, The Academy Is... and Paul Wall after each of their sets. My arena was pretty large and I was actually suprised when the majority of the seats were filled. At around 6pm, Cobra Starship started playing their set. I unfortunately couldn't see this one because I was meeting Fall Out Boy. From what I heard of their set, it was really good. Cobra Starship is an amazing band and they did really well live. I was suprised as to how many Cobra fans there were in the crowd. After Cobra Starship ended, around 6:45pm, Paul Wall started his set. I'm not a huge fan of rap but he was really good live. Althought, this was more of a rock concert, and Paul Wall is of a completely different genre, there were a few fans of his out in the crowd. I, again, wasn't able to watch his set because of meeting Fall Out Boy. After Paul Wall, one of my favorite bands, The Academy Is... came on. I was excited to be able to see them live. William Beckett [lead singer] sounds amazing live. Their set consisted of some of my favorite songs by them which was great. :) Right before their set ended, they announced that they were having a little meet and greet, so many fans were able to meet the band. Following The Academy Is... was +44. I, honestly, have never heard or listened to this band before so I really don't have much to say about them. They sounded pretty good live though and I'll admit I got excited when they played a Blink 182 song. After +44, came Fall Out Boy. Their set lasted about an hour and a half. It was the most amazing thing ever. They had fireworks, loads of confetti and more fireworks. It was pretty cool how well it was all put together. This band is my favorite of all. Everything just sounded so great. They played a cover of "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, which I thought was funny. :P After their set ended it was around 10:45pm which isn't that late at all. By far, the most amazing concerts I've ever attended and highly recommend seeing any of these bands live because they are all amazing live. :)
Cons: The thing I really didn't like that much about the concert was the fact that there were so many people. I'm more of a fan of smaller venues because I find the large ones confusing. :P
Experiences: I'm an Overcast Kid which is Fall Out Boy's official fan club and I was given the chance to meet them. So I did! It was the most amazing day ever. :)
Rating: 10 million ;) Yes, it was that awesome.
Final Thoughts: I'm pretty sure that a few of the bands that played on this tour are having headlining fall tours of their own. So be on the lookout for their tour dates!
