Chances are you haven't heard of this band. Unless, of course, you live in Chicago. Hometown heroes The Elation have definately made a name for themselves in the Chicago music scene. It all began with the release of The Elation EP. The five-piece band released their first EP in August 2006. Fan favorites included "Closer to Closure" and "Lifetime Would Make a Movie About This." The EP song more than 1,000 copies within the first 6 months. But they didn't slow down there. The band played as many shows as they could to promote their music. They've shared the stage with song big names like Spitalfield, The Audition, June, This Providence, Forgive Durden, Asteria, Small Towns Burn A Little Slower and more. With the success of The Elation EP, The Elation headed back into the studio to start working on their second release. They began previewing some of their new songs, and fans grew anxious to hear the rest. Finally, they announced that the EP would be released June of 2007. The First song to be released, "Business Before Love," was also featured in demo CDs distributed by their record company, Delphine Records. The band's second release, Purpose and Meaning, became a huge hit among The Elation fans. Local shows helped promote the EP. And now, despite guitarists Dan announcing that he'll be leaving, it's safe to say that the band has a bright future ahead of them.

Recommendations:
"Characters" - In my opinion, one of the band's best song. It's off their newest release Purpose and Meaning. It's catchy and definately a song you should listen to.

"Hollywood Lights" - Another song of their new EP. I don't have much to say about this song except it's one of their best tracks in my opinion.

"Lifetime Would Make a Movie About This" - Everything from the lyrics of this song to the music is great. This song is on The Elation EP so you can get this song on iTunes. So iTunes users, add this to your shopping cart.

"Images Of A Novel" - This is my favorite song by The Elation. It's off their first EP, so again you'll be able to get this one off iTunes. In fact, this song is the reason I started getting into the band in the first place. An amazing song.
