The Blow

The pop duo has been making sweet, melodic pop-y trakcs since 2004 when Jona Bechtolt and Khaela Marichich recorded a limited edition EP: Poor Aim, Love Songs. Since then they have created more faboulous music and their newest cd: Paper Television. The duo is odd, but everything just fits together. Khalea's bubbly vocals and intimate lyrics over Jona's percussive beats are the pefect combination for the pop-club anthems they create.

What suprises me is that The Blow isn't that popular. This music is perfect to play at a party to get everyone dancing or being spun by some international-dj at some jam-packed sweaty club. It actually makes me want to get up and dance [kinda impossible for me, the shy girl in the corner]. The Blow also appeals to the less enerjectic, dancing crowd with their intimate lyrics ranging from a boy not calling you to a boy whos just not in your league. I personally love this band. It has been my favorite for a year now. You're stupid if you don't take time and listen to these amazing songs.

Recommendations:
Hock It - The best song off of Poor:Aim... and definitley the most dancable. I just...love it. I have no idea why. Maybe because its about a hot unreliable guy? We've all known one of them...

Pardon Me - Good enought to dance to, but the lyrics are good enough to relate. About what happens when you question your partners emotions? "Pardon Me but wasn't that your heart? That I felt in between the sheets...". That lyric sums up the whole amazingly good song.

True Affection - The 1st single off of Paper Television, this song has been as itunes free single of the week. The beat, taken from D4L's "Laffy Taffy" is turned into some tropical version, keeping the famous "dun dun dun..." is under Khaela's sweet hopefull voice singing about that boy who is just out of your league but you want him nearer. Definitley the one to download.
