Gnarls Barkley
By: S6 Staff - lz. Gnarls Barkley. Gnarls Barkley! This innovative musical duo is made up of Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo, both of which have quite significant talents. Danger Mouse has crafted beats for bands such as The Gorillaz and worked with big name artists like Jay-Z. Cee-Lo on the other hand has a voice that's part soul, part funk, and all power. The two collaborated to bring us what would become the most talked about album of 2006. Their infectious debut single, "Crazy" set records and made Top Charts everywhere. With a strong debut album and the future looking bright for this team, I'm hoping more than ever that we'll hear more from Gnarls to go crazy over. Recommendations:
"Gone Daddy Gone" - Shortly after hearing "Crazy," I sought more tunes from this new artist. Behold, "Gone Daddy Gone." The beat is fun and the energy is high. The video is quirky and funny. The two together just make a combo that's just too good to ignore. "Crazy" - If you live under a rock, then this is the first time you've ever heard of this track. But just in case we do have some rock-dwellers here at S6, you have to listen to this song right away. Check out the video too. Personally, with my new HD laptop it's just so much more fun to watch. "Transformer" - Think of this as a fast talking guy with one message to say and a whole lot of speed to say it on. (S6 does not condone drug use, but drug references are sometimes needed in special occasions like artist reviewing.) The song is really really fast paced and before you know it, it's over.
