Jojo - The High Road

By: Austy

At the age of just 16 years old, JoJo [real-name Joanna Levesque], is one of the youngest and most talented entertainers in Hollywood today. She became a record breaking star when her first single Leave (Get Out) went number one; making her the youngest solo artist to have a number-one single in America. Her self-titled debut album, JoJo- released when she was only 13, has gone platinum and reached number four on the Billboard's Top 200. A second album is always the test of an artists true capabilities, and I believe JoJo passed the test. JoJo's sophomore record, The High Road, shows off her amazing capabilities even better than her before. Her voice has truly matured and it owns every song. The album has a variety of music on it. The first single Too Little Too Late is a real, emotional, pop-ballad with high-notes that only greats like Mariah Carey can hit. The infectious, hip-hop tracks This Time and The Way You Do Me, produced by famed producers Scott Storch and Swizz Beatz, will make you want to dance. JoJo is also showing off her emotional side with three inspirational songs on the album: Exceptional, The High Road, andNote To God. Not many people can say that they've broken Billboard records, released two hit albums, and starred in two movies before they reached the age of 16. JoJo's charisma, talent, and love for music is going to take her far. The album The High Road is amazing and is truly a showcase of JoJo's talent.

Recommendations:
"The Way You Do Me" - The hip-hop track, produced by Swizz Beatz, has a crazy beat in the back and with JoJo's voice it has the potential to be a club banger.

"How To Touch A Girl" - With lyrics like, "You're taking my hand, looking into my eyes", this slow, soulful track has lyrics most likely to touch any teenage, maybe even adult, girl's heart.

"Exceptional" - Any song that reminds everyone to be themselves, is a good song. Exceptional is exactly that. It is exceptionally written. She wants you to know that you are "perfect in the skin you're in."
