Hot Hot Heat - Elevator

By: Louie

Hot Hot Heat was never really in the spotlight of mtv and mainstream music. until they released this album, "Elevator." MTV2 took "Goodnight,Goodnight" under its wing and made it a hit with their mostly alternative/rock audience. Hot Hot Heat thus garnered more attention for one of their best albums to date.

The cd starts off with a short introduction which sounds like a rehearsal for a concert. You're quickly thrown into the first song without realizing it. The first song, "Running Out of Time," is a catchy song that starts off a cd full of great songs. Among the most notable songs on the cd are, "Goodnight,Goodnight," "You Owe Me An IOU," "Ladies and Gentlemen,"Middle of Nowhere" and "Soldier in a Box." The whole cd is wonderful and the songs work well together. There isn't really a single one that feels as if it shouldn't be there grouped with the others.

"Elevator" is a great cd with tons of songs to satisfy you. Hot Hot Heat has a distinctive voice and they certainly use that to their advantage on this album. You'll probably find yourself singing along trying to match the lead singer's accent! I recommend this album to anyone who likes alternative/pop/rock music. It's a album that would make a lovely addition to your music collection.
