Bayside - The Walking Wounded

By: S6 Journalist - Sebastian.

While on tour with Hawthorne Heights in 2005, Bayside was involved in a tour bus accident. All band members were fine except for one. That day, Bayside's drummer, John 'Beatz' Holohan. After missing a couple shows, Bayside finished the tour with acoustic performances. Later on, they release Acoustic. A live CD and DVD of their Chicago performance. Bayside later began recording their third full-length studio album.

On February 6th, 2007, Bayside's highly anticipated album was released. The Walking Wounded. Since their self-titled album, Bayside has gained many fans. That showed when Bayside's album debuted at #75 with 13,000 compies sold it's first week. This was much higher up the charts then Bayside's ever reached before. They have been touring with Anberlin, Meg & Dia, and Jonezetta since early February. And if you buy the CD, inside, if you look under where the actual CD is, at the very bottom is a special dedication to Beatz, who will never be forgotten.

Recommendations:
"Devotion and Desire" - This song is easily one of the songs Bayside is most known for. If you listen to it, you'll quickly discover why. You can find it on their self-titled album.

"Winter" - This is a spacial acoustic song dedicatated to John 'Beatz' Holohan. It's a very emotional song, especially to those who remember the tragedy of Beatz's death. This is easily one of my favorite Bayside songs.

"The Walking Wounded" - This song is the opener and title track to Bayside's album The Walking Wounded. It, along with the rest of the album, is the old Bayside sound with a new touch. A song that's hard not to like.
